Canada Day weekend June 30 & July 1 2012 Digital Dream Line up

Posted 13 June 2012 | Blog

Check out this amazing dj line up

Kaskade

The New York Times may have called him the “new face of electronic dance music” in a recent profile, but Ryan Raddon, known as Kaskade, has been in the trenches of the EDM scene as an original recording artist and in-demand DJ for more than a decade. He has released seven studio albums, including his latest, Fire & Ice, that scored nine Top 10 hits on Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay Chart.

Afrojack

Starting his quest to become a DJ from the meager age of 11 years old, AfroJack has certainly grown since then. By 2008, AfroJack had hit his stride, releasing club hits like “Math” and “Do My Dance”.From this point on, AfroJack began appearing at many important festivals, like Mystery Land, Tomorrowland (Belgium), Extrema Outdoor and Sensation.

Duck Sauce

This group is comprised of Grammy-Award Nominated Armand Van Helden and Fool’s Gold Records’ owner A-Trak. Each is successful in the music industry in their own right, and together they have produced many memorable hits including : “Barbara Streisand”, “You’re Nasty” and “Big, Bad Wolf”.

Wait there’s more…

Richie Hawtin

Artist, DJ, conceptualist and ambassador, more than anyone else in modern electronic music, Richie Hawtin has relentlessly proved himself to be a true innovator. The one-man mogul behind acclaimed Techno imprints Plus 8 & Minus sends signals out all over the world from his HQ in an old fire station in Windsor, Ontario – just across the border from Detroit Techno City.

Alesso

At only 20 years and with massive original productions including ‘Nillionaire’ under his belt, Sebastian Ingrosso’s protégé is definitely one to look out for this year! He already scored an Essential New Tune on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio One show with his debut track on Refune Records “Nillionaire” during Miami Music Week 2011.

Dub Fire

Ali Shirazinia, known by his stage name Dubfire, left the comforts of a storied career as one-half of Grammy-winning duo Deep Dish in order to pursue new life as a producer of “jet-black, polished chrome techno.” Such daring reinvention is not for the faint of heart – yet Dubfire in just three short years has emerged as a technological innovator, an acclaimed producer, and the owner of the lauded SCI+TEC Digital Audio record label.

and more…

Steve Lawler

Steve Lawler needs no introduction, but he certainly warrants one. You would be hard pushed to find a more in-form, in-demand, exceptionally talented artist, regarded as highly by his industry peers as he is by his huge global base of musically educated fans. Steve Lawler, a child of the acid house generation, has been busy with the beats long before genres were but a twinkle in clublandʼs eye.

Nic Fanciulli

Nic Fanciulli is a DJ, producer and label owner who has remained one of the UK’s finest exports in electronic music throughout the last decade. A Grammy nominated producer, Nic has worked with artists as diverse as Underworld, Kylie Minogue, U.N.K.L.E, Loco Dice, Josh Wink and Tracey Thorn in addition to producing a plethora of solo club focused tracks that have achieved both critical and commercial acclaim.

Mark Knight

Mark Knight’s legacy already ranks him as a leading player in dance music culture. His rise to the forefront has been more than just gigs and remixes; his contribution to the scene via his label Toolroom Records, demonstrates abilities that supercede the glorified title of ‘DJ’.

yup you guess it and more…

MAJOR LAZER

Major Lazer is a Jamaican commando who lost his arm in the secret Zombie War of 1984. The US military rescued him and repurposed experimental lazers as prosthetic limbs. Since then Major Lazer has been a hired renegade soldier for a rogue government operating in secrecy underneath the watch of M5 and the CIA.

R3HAB

In a short period of time the ambitious Fadil El Ghould A.K.A. R3hab, firmly established his name in the Dutch dance scene. After the successful remix of Chuckie’s “Toys Are Nuts” Rehab rapidly gained support from DJ’s worldwide. The track “MRKRSTFT” became a huge club hit and was featured on the 2008 Sensation White CD.

Chuckie

Having risen to fame with chart successes such as ‘Let The Bass Kick’ and ‘Aftershock,’ Chuckie’s career has continued to develop thus turning him into a global phenomenon who never fails to win over legions of fans with his upfront approach to making and playing music. Taking dance and urban music by storm in Europe, The United States, and South America and beyond.

wow… we know there’s more…

A-Trak

No longer is it a crime to mash a hip-hop acappella into a techno track. In this arena, A-Trak, aka Alain Macklovitch, leads the pack. The 27 year-old Montreal native rides the line between hip-hop and electronic beats in a refreshing hybrid of everything “ass-shaking.” (BPM Magazine, issue 86)

Art Department

Art Department is the brainchild of Canadian techno/house Legend Kenny Glasgow and Canada’s fastest rising star and No.19 label owner – Jonny White. As individuals both Kenny and Jonny have released countless critically acclaimed records and are regarded internationally as two of the most forward thinking, relevant underground producers out of North America.

Chus + Ceballos

Undoubtedly they are the most solid professional pair of the moment, throughout the world recognized by their excellent production works, their coveted remixes and their marathon dj sets, where they capture their genuine Iberian character, a blend of styles in perfect harmony between House and Techno which common factor is the unmistakable beat of the percussions.

Guy Gerber

Guy Gerber has always been comfortable as an outsider. From being the rock kid at the rave, to the Israeli DJ on the European club circuit, to the electronic producer with a fetish for live instruments, he tends to skirt the edge of whatever scene he’s in. His most recent project consisted of working on an album with P. Diddy, who took him on more permanently after hearing the results.

Boris

DJ Boris started his ascension to high ranks in 2004, when the native of St. Petersburg, Russia took up residence at New York super club Crobar. It was the culmination of years of workhorse gigging at almost every club across the Big Apple. But it was more than that too: it was a movement that has shown no signs of fading. Boris started moonlighting as a DJ while taking classes at the Institute of Audio Research in New York.

Hed Kandi

Launched in 1999, Hed Kandi has evolved from humble beginnings as a compilation brand into the global phenomenon it is today. With a catalogue spanning over 80 albums, a number of artist projects and three UK Top Ten singles and a host of Top 40 hits to date, Hed Kandi is now a globally respected brand. Hed Kandi started out with residencies in 2002.

Ok. just a few more… we know your loving it… so… are we

BT

Arguably the most accomplished and recognizable of the largely anonymous trance set, Transeau made a huge mid-90s impact with releases such as ‘Loving You More’ and ‘Embracing The Sunshine’ for Perfecto Records.

TYDI

Since bursting onto the scene just a few short years ago, Australian dance music prodigy, TyDi (aka Tyson Illingworth), has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame. A rare musical talent who’s classically trained, the young Australian’s storming dance tunes are today signed to some of the biggest labels in the world and spun regularly by luminaries like Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Markus Schulz and Paul Van Dyk.

Autoerotique

The ambiguously great duo’s Keith Robertson & David “Dave” Henderson were homegrown and shifted-into-shape within the multi-culti bustle of Toronto’s West end. signing with Dim Mak Records, the duo streaked like a tracer bullet through the strobe-lit sky of the T.O. dance community with their official first single Gladiator featuring remixes by Aoki/AM, Klever, Larry Tee/Alexander Technique, The Faint, AC Slater & Milano.

the beats will live forever at this rate…

Carlo Lio

If music is the universal language then Toronto Native, Carlo Lio is surely multilingual. It is this universal appeal that has allowed Carlo to speak to so many people without ever having to say a word. His ability to capture sounds and emit them so expressively is a gift. Music has always been a priority in Carlo’s life; anyone who witnesses him gracing the decks can attest to this.

LONDON ELEKTRICITY

For those that know him and those that don’t, Tony Colman (no ‘e’!) cuts a formidable figure. Having been involved in the D+B scene since the mid-90s, the co-founder of Hospital Records has been instrumental in the development of the genre as we know it today. Responsible for some of Hospital’s biggest anthems (“Round The Corner”, “Different Drum”, “Just One Second”), Tony has cultivated a first class reputation as both a producer and DJ.

SYDNEY BLU

Sydney Blu continues to establish herself as one of the top female electronic producers and Dj’s in the world. Her passion for success, hit singles on the Beatport charts, extensive global touring, and musical creativity has Sydney at the top of the electronic music scene.
